Next Generation Leaders
History of the Next Generation Leaders Program
After years of providing scholarships to inner city youths in the Dorchester, Roxbury, and Allston areas, Harriet Lewis, Chair of Grand Circle Foundation and Vice Chair of Grand Circle Corporation, decided to provide a richer experience for young leaders. In 2007, based on her passion for education and leadership development, Harriet recognized there were few programs for students in the year between high school graduation and the start of college, and developed the Next Generation Leaders Program. The goal of the Next Generation Leaders Program is to provide work, leadership experience, service and international travel, which develop the skills and confidence for NGLs to succeed in a 4-year college and be stronger global citizens.
