LFF Boston Wins Good Neighbor Award

We are extremely excited to announce that the Lewis Family Foundationwas awarded the Good Neighbor Award by one of our trusted partners in Dorchester – Codman Academy Charter School.

Recently, The Lewis Family Foundation-Boston supported Codman in the construction of their new lower school building – one of the first school buildings in Boston to have integrated a trauma-informed design throughout the space – from the ceiling heights, to the hue and color on the walls, even the design of their hallways.

Codman has seen a 60% drop in suspensions in their new building.

In Codman's words:

“The success of Codman Academy would not be possible without immense support from our partner organizations. Each year, Codman Academy presents the Good Neighbor Award to an organization who has gone above and beyond to support Codman’s mission and students. This year’s recipient supported Codman’s expansion to a K1-12 school, provides leadership retreats and training for staff, and has provided leadership trips for students to countries like Tanzania and Kenya.”

We are so proud to work with such strong, innovative community partners.
