The 2007 Lifelong Access Institute Fellows

Nineteen Fellows were selected from a field of more than 70 applicants. They came from 14 states, representing public libraries providing services to communities as small as Reading, MA, and as large and urban as San Francisco, CA. All mid-career librarians, the Fellows were selected for their commitment to furthering their libraries’ work with active older adults.

The Institute was held from from July 29 - August 3, 2007, at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Profiles of 2006 Fellows

Three annual Lifelong Access Libraries Institutes are being offered through the Lifelong Access Libraries Initiative from 2006-2008.  These week-long training programs lead to a special certificate in Lifelong Access Librarianship.  Participants will be selected from across the United States and will include representatives from each Lifelong Access Center of Excellence.   Our first Lifelong Access Libraries Institute was held July 30-August 4, 2006 at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. 

The cost of Fellows’ travel, tuition, and room and board for the Institute will be covered by ALC.
