The Pima County Public Library’s (PCPL) “FITeens Tucson Health Initiative” will feature a 9 month series of classes around the topics of nutrition, exercise, and health for teens and their families. The initiative will also develop a teen health and wellness section on PCPL’s Teen Zone website to provide information on health and wellness and links to our community partners’ websites. In addition to the health series and website, the library will initiate a “Library Group” team with the America On the Move National Initiative (http://aom.americaonthemove.org), where teens and their families can earn incentives by recording their exercise goals with this online website. Teens and families will be eligible to earn incentives through their exercise, attendance at health and nutrition classes, and use of the library’s collection in support of their health goals.
