The Providence Public Library’s “Bites & Bytes” program has been designed to be experiential and interactive so that the major health and wellness concepts are presented through real life applications and engaging activities that are enjoyable and memorable for teens and “tweens”. The program consists of the following four components: 1) expansion of the library’s health and wellness collections 2) student cooking, nutrition and physical fitness workshops in conjunction with our partners, Johnson & Wales University, Providence After School Alliance (PASA), Kid’s First and Whole Foods Market 3) family workshops/field visits and 4) literacy-based activities.
