Food Face-Off
Obesity is an eating disorder that permeates the general population and is documented to affect children and teens at an alarming rate, with related health problems, such as Type 2 diabetes, following in its wake. The "JCFPL Food Face-Off" challenges individuals and families to face up to their poor eating habits through education about making better food choices and understanding the benefits of exercise. Partnering with the Family Support Organization of Hudson County, Horizon Health Center, Jersey City Library Literacy Program, Boys & Girls Club of Hudson County and the Soul of Fitness, the JCFPL Food Face-Off will take advantage of established programs that emphasize good health practices, with encouraging structured exercise that's still fun.
