Hip Hop Fitness Jam

'Hip Hop Fitness Jam' will present information and library resources focusing on teens and their families about nutrition, health, and physical fitness.  The program will coincide with Houston Public Library’s Summer Reading program and the 'Hip Hop Café' program, which target teens and their families to encourage reading and the use of library resources.  'The Hip Hop Fitness Jam' will take place at nine of the neighborhood branches of the Houston Public Library.  The program will incorporate various types of physical fitness and nutritional guidance.  The teens and their families will take part in informational health life skills sessions that will teach them about the importance of having a balanced diet and how that can affect their overall health.  The physical fitness component will incorporate the use of fitness instructors to help the teens and their families learn the importance of exercise.  The exercise programs will use ‘Dance, Dance, Revolution’; to create an exciting learning atmosphere for the participants.
