Dayton Metro Library’s “Fit for Life” project is a pedometer-based health and fitness program open to all ages and at all locations of the county-wide Dayton Metro Library system. Similar to traditional library Summer Reading Clubs, the Library’s “Fit for Life” program uses a simple measure of activity open to all ages, in this case movement rather than reading. By providing prize incentives, supplemental workshop programs, and increased access to health information, improved health for all ages will be possible both during and well beyond the Fit for Life project.
